WAXING RULES 101
SHOWER. Before appointment. Arriving clean and fresh will make you feel more at ease.
GROW. Hair needs to be a quarter of an inch (about 10-14 days of growth) for the hair to adhere correctly to the wax.
RESIST. The urge to shave between waxing sessions. Shaving creates sharper, coarser hair! You’ve come so far, don’t go back!
EXFOLIATE. Your bikini line the night before your wax. Exfoliating will keep ingrown hairs at bay. If you’re prone to ingrown hairs you might want to make a habit of this.
RELAX. It’s just wax! The anticipation is often worse than the actual event. Block out the waxing horror stories your friends have filled your head with. They don’t come to us! This is your experience and we want it to be a good one!!
BREATHE. Holding your breath won’t help you, although we will remind you to breathe if you must give it a try. Don’t worry—it really doesn’t hurt that much. We want you to come back, so we won’t do anything to traumatize you!
KNOW. Every wax after the first one gets easier. We understand that first timers have no idea what to expect. The first one will be the most uncomfortable, especially if you’ve been shaving prior to it...but remember it gets easier and it’s worth it. Hair free for weeks? Bet your razor never offered that! We would say people leave pleasantly relieved that the wax wasn’t nearly as bad as they expected.
MEDICATE. If you must. Everyone’s pain tolerance varies. If the pain concerns you, take a couple of Advil 20 minutes before your appointment. You can also come in 30 to 45 minutes before your appointment or the day before and purchase an exclusive numbing gel that will numb up the area and make your waxing experience less discomforting.
ALL DONE. The magic words you have been waiting for! Now see that wasn’t so bad! Enjoy the smooth new you and we will see you in 4-6 weeks!
